For years, I have painted almost every day — not for exhibitions, nor with sales in mind, but because painting is my way of staying connected to nature. It is how I breathe. It is how I remember the smell of rain on moss, the way light slips through a canopy, and the quiet presence of ancient trees.
Every brushstroke is guided by intuition. My paintings do not attempt to replicate the forest; they capture its atmosphere. The light after rain. The movement of the wind. The softness of moss. The silence that settles between the trees.
Over the years, countless paintings have emerged. Some have found homes with collectors, and invitations to exhibit have followed. Yet I still feel more at home among the trees than in the spotlight. Perhaps that is precisely why the work feels honest.
How the work is made
I do not use reference photographs. I do not plan compositions in advance. Each painting begins with a memory — a walk, a season, a feeling — and grows from there.
The process is slow and listening. Layers of oil paint are built up, scraped back, and pushed around until the canvas begins to hold the same mood as the forest that inspired it.
